On 23rd December, Ambassador Huang Xingyuan attended the Handover Ceremony of One Million RMB Aid to Lady Hochoy Home and delivered remarks. First Lady of Trinidad and Tobago Her Excellency Madame Carmona gave her remarks as well. On behalf of respective Governments, Ambassador Huang and Sister Bertill Dean ,superintendent of Lady Hochoy Home, signed on the handover certificate.
Ambassador Huang stated in his speech that the Goods were donated by Her Excellency Madame Peng Liyuan during the State Visit of His Excellency President Xi Jinping last June. The Goods arrived before Christmas Eve as promised, which showcased the care Chinese Government delivered to Trinidadian people and exhibited our mutual trust and friendship. As a caring mother and Good-will Ambassador in China and in the world, Madame Peng wishes to improve the living condition of the physically-challenged community in Trinidad and to bring our two peoples closer.
Madame Carmona expressed appreciation for the generosity and selflessness of the Chinese Government and for its commitment to the philanthropic development of Trinidad and Tobago. The Goods are of a big variety and are pragmatic, which will help solve many difficulties.
After the signing ceremony, children in Lady Hochoy Home performed dances and songs, which was very touching and moving.
