Q: On August 4 local time, there was an failed assassination attempt on Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. President Maduro later said in a speech that the Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos and the far right of Venezuela were responsible. Colombia's government has vehemently denied this. What is your comment?

A: We have noted these reports and responses from relevant parties. The Venezuelan government is stepping up investigation into this. China opposes all forms of extreme and violent acts and supports the efforts made by the Venezuelan side to ensure peace and stability in its country.
