On March 14, 2014, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Trinidad and Tobago, in collaboration with Mayaro Pass-Pupils Association (MPPA), hosted the official opening of "Beautiful China" photographic exhibition at TT Mayaro Resource Center. H.E. Huang Xingyuan, Chinese Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago and Mr. Kyron James, Councilor of Mayaro, made remarks respectively. Over 200 persons, including principals, teachers and students from Mayaro Government School, Mafering Government School, St. Thomas Mayaro Roman Catholic School, etc and representatives from TT Mayaro Resource Center, Mayaro Pass-Pupils Association, energy companies, local media and staff from the Chinese Embassy were present.
Mr. Kyron James warmly welcomed H. E. Huang Xingyuan and his staff to Mayaro, expressed his heartfelt thanks for the Embassy to host "Beautiful China" Photographic Exhibition in Mayaro. He said that the Exhibition would provide a window for the local people to open their mind and know more about China. Inspired by such a beautiful photo exhibition, he thought that Mayaro could present its own photographic exhibition to make Mayaro more attractive.
Ambassador Huang gave a feature speech. He said that it was the fourth stop of "Beautiful China" photographic exhibition, after the Embassy hosted it in Hyatt Regency of TT, National Library and University of Western Indias in the past. "Beautiful China" exhibition held in beautiful Mayaro would mean "Beauty plus beauty makes everything even better". He stressed that while Chinese people are striving for their "China Dream" , TT people are pursuing their "TT Dream". Both countries would stand side by side to create brighter future.
After the function, Ambassador Huang donated 240 Chinese-English books, 75 DVDs and other tokens for those teachers and students.
"Beautiful China" photographic exhibition at TT Mayaro Resource Center will last 10 days till March 24, 2014 and is free to the public.
