Ambassador Huang Xingyuan holds National Day Reception

On Sept. 23, 2013 H.E. Huang Xingyuan, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and his wife Mrs. Ma Li held the National Day Reception celebrating the 64rd Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China in Port of Spain.

   
 Over 300 guests were present at the reception including the Hon. Dr. Roodal Moonilal, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Housing, the Hon. Dr. Fuad Khan, Minister of Health, the Hon. Tim Gopeesingh, Minister of Education, Brigadier Kenrick Maharaj, Chief of Staff of Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force, Mr. Reynold Cooper, Permanent Secretary in the office of the Prime Minsiter, Ms. Margaret Parillon, Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs, and members of the Diplomatic Corps, guests from all walks of life, representatives from the Chinese community and Chinese companies in Trinidad and Tobago.

   
Ambassador Huang Xinyuan and Minister Roodal Moonilal delivered warm speeches at the reception. Both agreed that since China and Trinidad and Tobago establishing diplomatic relations in 1974, the two countries have enjoyed excellent bilateral relations. In recent years, political exchanges have been on the increase, trade and economic relations have been strengthening and the exchange in the cultural and educational fields remains as another strong point in the two countries relationship.

   
 Both the Ambassador and the Minister hailed the successful visit by President Xi Jinping to Trinidad and Tobago 3 months ago as a historical move to lift the bilateral relations. The Ambassador and the Minister pledged to further expand the bilateral relations.

   
The reception was permeated with warm and friendly atmosphere. The guests extended warm congratulations to China and all wished the relationship between China and Trinidad and Tobago aiming higher.
